Why is my license suspended if I have not been convicted of a DUI?

by Aaron Black • February 20, 2014

If you have been arrested for a DUI in Phoenix, Arizona the first thing you need to do is hire a DUI attorney. The next step is getting your license in order. This is where Defense Attorney Aaron Black can help you. Call me today.

When arrested for a DUI many police officers will immediately serve you with suspension paperwork. This is called the Admin Per Se/Implied Consent. It is a pink and yellow paper. The yellow copy is your temporary license. It is valid for 15 days. If you do not request a hearing, your license will be automatically suspended for 90 days.

The pink copy is used to submit a hearing request to MVD. Submitting this form will allow you to keep driving until you have the hearing. This can take up to four months. However, if this process is not handled properly you may have to obtain SR22 to drive. Hire a professional.

Though the suspension is 90 days, you may be entitled to a restricted license after day 30 if you complete an alcohol screening.

The only way to avoid the suspension is to win the MVD hearing and your DUI. Even if your DUI is dismissed, MVD will still try to suspend your license.

Call Aaron Black today and set up your consultation. This does not have to be confusing or painful.
