My preliminary hearing was vacated in Phoenix, does that mean the charges were dropped?

by Aaron Black • May 20, 2016
Jail time and finesIf your case was vacated at your preliminary hearing or status conference hearing in Phoenix this simply means that your case will most likely go to the grand jury.

A Grand Jury is a secret hearing where a group of people decide if there is probable cause to hold your case over for trial. If they decide that there is enough evidence against you they hand up an Indictment. The Indictment will list the formal charge(s) against you.

If you have been indicted you are now facing serious felony charges and felony convictions carry penalties of fines, prison, jail and probation. I strongly encourage you to contact a criminal defense attorney in Phoenix to represent you rather than go it alone.

Serious criminal charges include:

  • Murder
  • Manslaughter
  • Endangerment
  • Conspiracy
  • Illegal Control of an Enterprise
  • Fraud Schemes
  • Theft
  • Money Laundering
  • Domestic Violence
  • Criminal Damage
  • Burglary
  • Theft of Means of Transportation
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault
  • Sex Crimes
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Narcotic Drugs
  • Possession of Dangerous Drugs
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Sale of Marijuana
  • Sale of Narcotic Drugs
  • Sale of Dangerous Drugs
