The Holidays are here and so is the DUI Enforcement Campaign!

by Aaron Black • December 09, 2016
Holiday drinksWith joys of the Holidays in full force celebrating the season with family and friends and coworkers often involve a little holiday spirit of the alcohol kind. I encourage you to take special caution and plan ahead if you will be drinking. By the way, did you know that you can be arrested for a DUI in Scottsdale for consuming one or two drinks?

In 2015 there were more than DUI 25,000 arrests in Arizona and during the holidays the number of DUI arrests are said to be in the hundreds. In a continuing effort to keep drunk drivers off the roads, state, local and federal DUI enforcement officials launched their annual DUI Enforcement Campaign.

Even though Arizona has the strictest DUI Laws in the nation almost 300 people died last year in alcohol-related accidents in Arizona during the holidays. In addition to increased patrols, the campaign will also include sober driving education in an effort to educate drivers of the hazards of drinking and driving.

Give Uber a call or find a friend who will be your designated driver to get you to and from your destination as it is far cheaper than paying for a DUI Lawyer, court costs, going to jail, and running the risk of having an ignition interlock installed on your car.

Did you know that you will face penalties from other entities and not just the court if you have been charged with a DUI in Scottsdale? You will also face consequences from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD).

Can you just imagine the life-altering consequences of a DUI, let alone the possibility of hurting an innocent bystander along the way?

Remember, DUI’s can be avoided by taking one simple step: Do Not Drink and Drive.
