DUI Task Force in Full Force at the Phoenix Open

If you have been drinking at the Phoenix Open do not drive. Myfoxphoenix.com reports that Scottsdale police are out in full force to prevent anyone from driving drunk after leaving the Bird's Next. The DUI Task Force is looking for any traffic violation to pull you over and investigate for DUI. This infraction can be anything from no license plate light to making a wide turn. The DUI Task Force consists of officers from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Phoenix, Gilbert, and Scottsdale.

Below is a list of things that police officers look for when searching for drunk drivers

  • Making a wide radius turn
  • Straddling the center of the lane marker
  • "Appearing to be drunk"
  • Almost striking an object
  • Weaving
  • Driving on other than designated highway
  • Swerving
  • Speed is more than 10mph below the speed limit
  • Stopping for no reason in traffic
  • Following too closely
  • Drifting
  • Tires on lane marker
  • Erratic Braking
  • Driving into oncoming traffic
  • Signaling inconsistently
  • Responding slowly to traffic signals
  • Stopping inappropriately 
  • Turning abruptly or illegally
  • Accelerating of Decelerating rapidly
  • Headlights not on
The DUI Task Force officers are highly trained in DUI detection and investigation. At the DUI Task Force Command Center the officers will arrest you and draw your blood. They are out to get you.
